What is Thyroid Dysfunction?
The thyroid is a butterfly-shaped gland found at the base of the neck. The thyroid gland produces the body’s thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) and controls the metabolic processes. When a thyroid dysfunction occurs, it creates an imbalance of thyroid hormones within the body. When the thyroid becomes unbalanced, it affects energy levels, mental health, heart, muscles, bones, and cholesterol.
