A uterine malformation is an abnormality of the female genitals and can be congenital or acquired.
Diagnosis
Luckily, most women with some form of uterine malformation do not have symptoms and are able to become pregnant and have a normal pregnancy.
However, some women find out they have a uterine anomaly when they have difficulty becoming pregnant or develop complications during their pregnancy.

Types of Uterine Malformations
Congenital abnormalities:
- Arcuate uterus
- Septate uterus
- Bicornuate uterus
- Didelphys uterus (double uterus)
- Unicornuate uterus
Acquired abnormalities:
- Fibroids (benign growths)
- Uterine adhesions (scars)
- Cervical insufficiency (short cervix)
