What is Menopause?

It’s when a woman permanently stops having periods.  It’s a natural part of the aging process.

Stages

  1. Premenopause – The time leading up to menopause, when the hormones begin lowering.

  2. Perimenopause – The years transitioning into menopause.  It can last as long as 4-8 years.

  3. Menopause – The date of the last period, set after 12 months have elapsed without another period.

  4. Postmenopause – The time after the last period is recorded.

Treatment
